Midterm Intervention: Nathaly Campos

For my project, I decided to do a digital drawing. This poster functions as an artistic and political intervention by disrupting the dominant narratives and forcing viewers into a moment of critical reflection.
The PIG figure declares, "America is winning!" while the surrounding panels show immigration enforcement and family separation, a collapsing and burning civic infrastructure symbolizing a broken system, and wealth concentration (the rich get richer). The optimism of the speech bubble clashes with the imagery, inviting viewers to question official rhetoric versus lived realities. By placing the pig at the center but surrounding him with consequences and systemic critique, the piece shifts attention from personality politics to structural outcomes. The intervention isn't just about an individual; it's about the systems: economic inequality and institutional failure.
Political slogans often function as simplified messaging tools. This artwork interrupts that simplicity by embedding counterarguments within the same frame. It challenges the viewer to reconsider what
"Winning" means who benefits by it.

The imagery is not neutral; it's designed to provoke discomfort, anger, or reflection. Political interventions often aim not only to inform but to activate. Visually exposing contradictions between POLITICAL messaging and SYSTEMIC REALITIES, using satire and composition to spark critical engagement rather than passive consumption.
