The Art of Activism, Chapter 9
1.) "Our goals need to encompass our most personal fantasies and our common aspirations."
- My ideal world is one where everyone understands the ideologies they support and where their money goes. I feel that most of the world's conflict comes from misinformation.
2.) "The dominant system doesn't dominate because most people agree with it, it dominates because we can't imagine an alternative."
- My experience with Christianity my whole childhood was contained to a single megachurch our family had been attending since we returned to the Philippines. I didn't see a way to practice my faith on my own until I did more research.
My idea for the finals is called "How Close is ICE to Your Home?" It is a map of Jersey City with pins showing where people were abducted by ICE. It will include flyers that look similar to maps of malls or parks with the stars that say "You Are Here".
