Chapter 9 Utopia
“Utopias are not destinations, but directions.”
This quote means that a utopia isn’t something we can actually reach perfectly, but it’s still important because it shows us what direction to go in. Instead of trying to create a flawless society, it’s more about improving things step by step. I think this idea makes activism feel more realistic, because it focuses on progress instead of perfection.
“We need to imagine the world we want.”
This quote is saying that if we want to change the world, we first have to picture what a better version of it would look like. Without that vision, it’s hard to know what we’re even working toward. I think this is important because having a clear idea can inspire people and make change feel more possible.
